The gas turbines will be fueled by Blast Furnace Gas (BFG) from the new steel plant. The steam turbine will receive steam from the two Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) of the two gas turbines and additional steam from the coke oven plant. About half of the produced electrical energy will be used to operate the steel plant and the excess electrical energy will be exported to the national grid.
The gas turbines in CSA are two Alstom KA11N2 LBtu units, which are specifically designed to burn fuel with very low calorific value, presenting a reliable, efficient and environmentally friendly industrial solution for burning waste gases from industrial plants.
The two gas turbines will cumulatively contribute to 270 MW in the combined cycle power plant and the remaining 220 MW output will generated by the oversized steam turbine with additional steam from the coke oven plant.
The scope of the two contracts (one EPC contract and another o&m contract over 12 years) includes planned and unplanned maintenance of the two GT11N2 LBtu gas turbines, the associated generators and the direct auxiliaries
