Between 1 April 2012 and 31 March 2013, Alstom booked €23.8 billion of orders, up 10% compared to last year. As announced, the group achieved a strong level of orders in the fourth quarter at €6.6 billion, leading to a book-to-bill above 1 for the 10th consecutive quarter.

Budapest, 7 September 2012. – The first new METROPOLIS metro trainset manufactured by Alstom for Budapest entered commercial service. As known, Alstom obtained the final type license for the trains on 1 June 2012, and followed by the issuance of the operation certificate, the first new trainset have entered passenger service today. All together, Alstom delivers 22, five-car, air conditioned, single space trainsets for Line 2 of Budapest. The new vehicles will gradually replace the current, outdated fleet on one of the city’s most important underground line, carrying nearly half a million people daily.
Between 1 April 2011 and 31 March 2012, Alstom booked €21.7 billion of orders, up 14% compared to last year. As announced, the fourth quarter was particularly strong with €6.6 billion of new contracts.
On 19 March, Alstom inaugurated the largest offshore wind turbine in the world, at Carnet in the Loire-Atlantique. The ceremony was attended by Eric Besson, Minister of Industry, Energy and the Digital Economy, and Patrick Kron, Chairman and CEO of Alstom.
