Materials, components and services purchased represent around 60% of Alstom’s sales.
More than 40,000 suppliers and contractors around the world are
closely linked to the activities and success of the Group. Alstom
naturally seeks to foster long-term ties with these partners, involving
them in its growth, but also to manage any associated risks.
Therefore, since 2007, as part of this policy, Alstom has:
- Produced a charter for sustainable development between Alstom and its suppliers and sub-contractors;
- Developed a toolkit for evaluation of its suppliers in term of Sustainable Development;
- Supported suppliers in implementing action plans;
- Trained Alstom’s purchasing teams.
