Evaluation of our Sustainability and CSR policy vs. stakeholders' expectations

The CSR/Sustainability expectations of Alstom’s stakeholders are steadily increasing, as evidenced by:

  • its employees;
  • its customers (increased use of CSR/Sustainability criteria in tenders);
  • public authorities (emergence of new CSR/Sustainability regulations);
  • its shareholders and potential investors.

In order to adjust its Sustainability & CSR strategy based on importance of sustainable development challenges for stakeholders and their impacts on Alstom performance, as well as align on the new scope of Alstom activities and improve transparency, Alstom conducted in 2016 a materiality assessment. Out of a large number of sustainable development challenges, the most relevant ones to Alstom’s business were selected. This assessment was based on internal and external interviews conducted by a consultant.
