Why did you decide to come to Alstom? During my studies at university, I completed a six month internship with Alstom, and I thoroughly enjoyed the work and people here, which is why I came back after completing my degree.
Why do you like working at Alstom?
The diversity of the jobs I am involved in, and of course the people. I also like working for Alstom as they offer many opportunities for professional development and for involvement in many types of projects.
What exciting projects have you worked on at Alstom?
A wide range of projects, from a C-Inspection at Pelican Point GT Station, to helping wrap up the Ash/Slurry project at Callide B, and more recently performance testing and upgrade packages for coal mills in NSW, and a variety of smaller projects along the way.
What are your goals at Alstom – what are you working to achieve?
I aim to complete the Graduate Program within the next 18 months, on my way to becoming a chartered professional engineer in the future. In the meantime, I hope to continue to be involved in a wide range of projects across all facets of a power station in order to familiarise myself with the entire system, and then to hopefully specialise in a particular area.
What would you say to a new-starter at Alstom?
I'd say that they have made the correct choice in working for a company which offers a range of options for one's career path, where they will have the ability to work in different areas and quite possibly around the world if they desire.
