    Alstom Grid has been awarded two contracts1 worth approximately $130 million by TransGrid, Australia’s largest electricity transmission provider, for three new high voltage electrical substations2 in the State of New South Wales, Australia. The substations will be located at Wallerawang in the Central West area and Holroyd/Rookwood Road in the centre of Sydney. Both projects are scheduled to be delivered in 2013.

    The Honourable Jan Jarratt MP, Queensland Minister for Tourism, Manufacturing and Small Business, visited Alstom Grid’s historic Rocklea factory on the morning of Wednesday 6th July, 2011 to celebrate the successful completion of a $15 million upgrade project. Alstom Grid’s Rocklea factory is Australia’s leading power transfomer manufacturing unit with more than 60 years of experience in manufacturing electrical transmission equipment.

    Alstom today announced that it will manufacture 7 more X’Trapolis trains to Victoria’s rail network at the Regional Manufacturing Centre for Rolling Stock in Ballarat, Vic. The 7 trains, which comprise of 6 cars each, will be delivered to Metro for use on the Victorian rail network by 2014.

  • Maitland workshop celebrates 20 years of service

    Alstom Australia CEO Chris Raine will be joined at the celebration by the NSW Member for Maitland Robyn Parker and Hunter Valley Training Company CEO Robert Fuller.

    Over the 20 years of its existence, the Maitland workshop has grown from a local concern to developing an international reputation for excellence. It was started in 1991 to service local power and heavy industrial operations but is now being called on to maintain and construct major national and international power and heavy industry projects.
