Alstom Wind in Australia
With over 25 years of experience and 1,600 MW of wind turbines installed around the globe, Alstom is pleased to be adding wind to its Australian offering, alongside coal, hydro and gas turnkey power stations and services. Alstom employes 1000 people across Australia and has been in the country for over 100 years, employing 96,500 people worldwide.
Turnkey Windfarm Engineering, Procurement and Construction
Wind farms are the best bet to meet the Australian government’s target of 45,000 GWh renewable energy generated by 2020. Alstom’s proven EPC capabilities in the Australian energy environment will make a significant contribution towards achieving this goal.
Local Operation & Maintenance to Keep Turbines Running
Alstom’s network of service workshops (in Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania) are ideally positioned to offer localised service support in Australia’s windiest regions. On-site support services are also avaliable, to keep outage time to a minimum.
High Reliability from Proven Technologies
Alstom’s 1.67 MW, 2 MW and 3 MW wind turbine technologies are designed for high reliability and easy maintenance. Both wind turbines are designed with high reliability in mind. One example of this innovation is the ALSTOM PURE TORQUE TM concept.
ALSTOM PURE TORQUE TM concept allows for the seperation of bending loads from torque loads, transmitting torque loads uniquely to the low speed shaft. This reduces the stress on the gearbox – and keeps the wind turbine running productively for longer
