Alstom’s specialists have developed extensive experience in engineering, procurment and constructing new plants as well as retrofitting, servicing and modernizing existing power plants.
Alstom has achieved a 20% share of China’s hydro power market, and close to 50% market share of conventional islands for nuclear power plants (partnered with Dongfang).
Through working together with local partners, Alstom’s advanced and reliable technological expertise has equipped many prestigious power projects.
- We have supplied 14 hydro generator units for left bank, right bank and underground of the Three Gorges Project, and the governing and computer control systems for left bank.
- We have provided conventional islands for a number of nuclear projects, including the Daya Bay, Ling Ao Phase I and II, Hongyanhe and Taishan nuclear power plants, and also provided the Total Technical Services for Daya Bay and Ling Ao conventional islands.
- Alstom also provides boilers, steam turbine and generator sets for fossil fuel projects, and construction of combined cycle projects.
- Alstom's sea-water Flue Gas Desulphurization (SWFGD) has been applied in more than 10 power plants in Shenzhen, Qinhuangdao, Haimen, etc. with a total of 12GW. Alstom licensees have supplied more than 15GW FGD plants in China based on our WFGD/DFGD technologies.
- In China, Alstom has also set up more than 15 on-line Remote Monitoring and Diagnostic Centers at provincial power experiment research institutes and such major industrial groups as Huaneng, Sinopec and China Petroleum, where real-time and historical data is collected from over 3,000 key units.
- As a leader in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), Alstom provides world-leading Oxy-combustion and post-combustion carbon capture technologies significantly reducing CO2 emissions from existing and new thermal power plants.
