In Hungary, all Alstom sectors, Thermal Power, Renewable Power, Grid and Transport are present. Alstom Hungária PLC has a workforce of 144 employees in its headquarters in Budapest.
Thermal Power sector
Alstom, relying on its know-how and international background, provides full scale power service and turnkey solutions in Hungary, where nearly two thirds of the total installed power generating capacity was deployed by the Thermal Power sector and its legal predecessor.
Renewable power sector
Alstom understands that renewable energy sources are an essential element of global power strategies of the 21st century. Incorporating renewable energy not only supports the power industry’s environmental goals, but also addresses the needs of Hungary for energy security and independence.
Alstom Transport is the manufacturer of the metro vehicles for the M2 and M4 metro lines of Budapest, thus one of the largest suppliers of guided transportation sector of Hungary. Alstom Transport is one of the world’s leading Multiple Unit (MU) manufacturer, and excels in interlocking, signaling and European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) equipment development, manufacturing and deployment.
Alstom TIS in Hungary
The Information Solutions division of Alstom Transport –through its legal predecessor- has been present in Hungary since 1989. Its main profile includes the validation and verification of special, safety critical rail transportation softwares which is performed by an expanding number of dynamic experts (engineers, IT experts, programmers) having at least 8 years of international experience, and by considerable supplier network. The safety and signaling systems developed in Budapest, operate successfully all over the world in railway traffic control and in passenger information systems.
The Grid sector has been integrated into Alstom in 2010. The presence of the sector in the Hungarian market is noticeable through high voltage equipment supply and network management software installation for MAVIR Zrt., the Hungarian Transmission System Operator.
Although in Hungary the Alstom Group is mainly known as the manufacturer of the new metros for Budapest, our company – through its legal predecessor- has nearly 140 years of domestic history.
In Hungary all sectors of the Alstom Group, amongst others Thermal Power sector, Renewable Power sector, Transport sector as well as the Grid sectors are present.
