Alstom’s presence in Power Generation and Transport industries in the Czech Republic and Slovakia is traditional. We are a leading supplier of products and services for Energy and Heat producers. Alstom took part in building of new blocks in power plants of Ledvice, Kladno, and Plzen, and a new supercritical boiler, also in Ledvice. We are modernizing existing power plants with our modern technologies. Tradition, know-how, and technological background are assets we utilize in customer service at this ever-growing and demanding market, emphasizing efficiency and environment protection.
Alstom Transport has been a successful supplier of České dráhy (the Czech Railways Company). Our Pendolino trains marked the history in Czech rail transport. I strongly believe, Alstom, the World leading manufacturer of rolling stock, will continue to contribute to a planned rejuvenation of the Czech and Slovak rolling stock fleet, and support the development of this ecological and comfortable transportation of both countries.
Alstom is now in the phase of activity optimization and development, which reflects the market shifts in Energy and Transport, as well as Energy Transmission business. A part of this is an expansion of our Service and Retrofit capacities in Czech Republic and Slovakia. The Global IT Centre’s business in Bratislava is increasing above expectations. On the other hand, we are going through a restructuring process of Boiler Manufacturing plant in Brno. Alstom management will continue to look for further possibilities of utilization of its local potential in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
I believe the ongoing economic crisis and all due processes, which our company has been going through, will empower us for an upcoming period of time. We have been on the market for nearly 200 years and it’s our obligation to carry on the tradition. Czech and European Energy and Transport industries are at the dawn of a new era, influenced by the threat of Global Climate Changes.
