Alstom has signed an EPC contract with Narva Elektrijaamad AS to supply the first unit of the new Narva steam power plant.
The new Narva plant will ultimately consist of two 300 MW units, using 'circulating fluidised bed' (CFB) boiler technology to more effectively unlock energy from the locally-sourced oil shale and biomass that will be used for fuel.
Under the terms of the contract, Alstom will design, manufacture, supply, install, test and commission the units. This includes the supply of final fuel handling, CFB boiler, steam turbine, generator, flue gas treatment, automation & control systems and electrical systems for each unit.
