Alstom's charter for sustainable development

The “Ethics and sustainable development charter for Alstom's suppliers and contractors”, to which all Alstom suppliers have to adhere, requires their compliance with the principles set forth in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) Fundamental Conventions, the Guiding Principles of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Rules of Conduct of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and all of the values described in Alstom’s Code of Ethics.

By 2020, Alstom aims at having 95% of its purchase amount covered by the reference suppliers (with whom Alstom has a spend superior to 100K€) having signed the Ethics and Sustainable Development Charter. As of 31 March 2018, over 80% of these suppliers (representing 94% of purchasing volume) have signed this charter. Alstom has also included conformity with the charter in its general purchasing conditions.
