Alstom has delivered over 700,000 MW boiler systems either directly with own trademarks or with licenses. Our key expertise is supercritical pulverised coal boilers (deliveries more than 200,000 MW), circulated fluid boilers, and HRSGs. With our strong know-how of boilers, we develop not only new boiler technology, but also services for boiler maintenance and modernizations.
Boiler maintenance services and modernizations
In current market conditions existing power plants and boiler plants face expectation for changes and improvements. The obligation to increase the share of renewable energy sources means building new power plants and fuel conversions in existing units. Also straitening emission limits, obligations to reduce CO2-emissions, prolonging power plant’s lifetime and changes in operation mode often require modifications in boiler blocks. Alstom has experience of more than 27 GWe power plant fleet’s fuel conversions.
Power plant with its auxiliary equipment requires both scheduled maintenance and service based on inspections. Regular inspections and continuous failure preventive maintenance allow early detection of imminent failures, cost efficient repairs and forecasting maintenance needs. In Alstom we help our clients to meet these challenges.
