Nepal: Durlong Khola project

Objective: Giving electricity access to 7000 households – The construction of a 900kW hydropower plant in Nepal

The Alstom Foundation is teaming up with 6 different NGOs to make this project a reality.

The objectives are to build a 3km 11kV line to connect to the grid.  International engineers will also lead different constructions activities and train local staff to ensure the sustainability of the project.

€10,000 were already donated to Local Energy Network in order to conduct a study to measure the feasibility of the project (including studying the optimal place to build the power plant). Meanwhile, Energy Network has to find additional findings for the whole project to become a reality.
