UK: Improving social mobility for young people in Liverpool

This is the follow-up of a project that the Alstom Foundation supported last year to set up the office in Liverpool.
Next step will be to cover a year of running costs. The Social Mobility Foundation's aim is to achieve social mobility for bright student from poor backgrounds, through different levers, such as making available internships in leading professions and corporations, mentoring, assistance with University applications, skills development. Ultimately, the aim is to help them gaining access to “red-brick” Universities (43% increase in the probability of participants getting into a top University).
Not far from Alstom's new Widnes site, this project will support 125 bright young individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, through 24 events to be organised for them.
