Alstom Germany has a major industrial presence with a broad and advanced product portfolio and service offering in the core businesses of the group: power generation, power transmission and rail infrastructure.  Competence centers for gasturbines, offshore-substations, power transformers and high voltage products are in Mannheim, Dresden, Mönchengladbach and Kassel. The location of the international competence center for regional trains is Salzgitter, Wiesbaden is the technology center for carbone capture solutions.

Alstom sets the benchmark for innovative and environmentally friendly technologies. Our trains are recyclable up to 98% - through Eco-Design approach. With self-floating and self-installing offshore substations, we are supporting the turn of energy policies in Germany with pioneering work. The next generation of our well-proven gas turbine-technology features higher efficiency of over 61% as well as increased flexibility.

Alstom realised the first oxyfuel pilot power plant worldwide to capture carbon dioxide in Brandenburg and delivered electro technics for the first offshore substation in Germany. With an 876 MW output, Alstom turnkey solution Lingen is one of the world's most modern combined cycle power plants. Every fourth power transformer in Germany is delivered from Alstom today. Our trains drive from Schleswig-Holstein to Bavaria. Over 500 sold units and a market share of over 70% prove that our Coradia Lint, which has been developed only ten years ago, established itself in regional railway traffic.

In Germany, Alstom has a workforce of 9,000 employees who are working on 23 sites and in 12 commercial offices in 15 federal states.
