High current rectifier systems for electrolysis and DC arc furnace applications
Alstom Grid’s power electronics businesses are high current rectifier systems designed to supply direct current to electrolysis plants for the production of aluminium, chlorine, copper, zinc as well as to DC arc furnaces of steel making plants worldwide. The team in Berlin can rely on experience of more than 30 years in developing rectifier systems with a high reliability and long operation times.
Electrolysis power supply unit
One reference project of Alstom Grid delivered to Akzo Nobel in the Netherlands. It consists of two rectifier transformers, two containerized rectifier units including automatic current control as well as auxiliaries and DC busbars up to the chlorine electrolysis.
The transformers are delivered from Gebze, Turkey where Alstom Grid operates its world class power transformer factory founded in the 1960s and dedicated to the manufacturing of arc furnace transformers and rectifier transformers.
Reactive power compensation systems
Alstom Grid offers tailored solutions for power quality improvement and increase of power transmission capacity in industrial and transmission utility applications.
