External stakeholders

Stakeholder Mapping structures and improves communication between Alstom Grid sites and external stakeholders: residential and industrial neighbours, local administrations, environmental and other associations, elected officials and the media.

Stakeholder Mapping has already been implemented in eight sites in France, Germany, UK, India, Canada and Turkey. A methodology guide has been created to support further sites in the self-implementation of the project.

An example
Monchengladbach (Germany), where Alstom Grid is producing transformers for the wind industry in a mixed industrial and residential area. A dialogue was opened with neighbours to address needs and expectations, including greater respect in terms of noise and transporting heavy loads. A vital exercise as the site works while residents sleep. Stakeholder Mapping allowed for better community relations, while raising awareness of the ecology-minded work being done at the site.
