Diversity and Equal Opportunities

Alstom GRID with its presence in more than 70 countries recognises the many facets of diversity as a competitive advantage.

Our core values of "team", "trust" and "action" contribute to the cohesion of our teams and allow us to integrate diversity as an asset worldwide. Alstom Grid's performance relies on our engagement in recognising, supporting, hiring and developing a diverse team around the world.

Social and Professional Inclusion

We actively promote the social and professional inclusion of people from underprivileged areas.

  • For example in Villeurbanne, France, Alstom Grid and the "sport in the city" association organised a recruitment forum to integrate young people from underprivileged neighborhoods into the company on a rotating basis.
  • In Taubaté, Brazil, the Grid and Power sectors regularly participate in the "Escola Formare" training program monitored by the Brazilian organisation, IOCHPE. In 2010, through this training we succeeded in integrating 34 young people between the ages of 16 and 17 from underprivileged backgrounds. It offers one year's training in a professional environment. This covers both technical and behavioural aspects in the workplace. Many Alstom employees readily volunteered to train the young people concerned.
