The Open de France, established in 1906, is one of the most prestigious professional golf tournaments on the European Tour.
For more than 20 years, it has been taking place at the Golf National, an exceptional golf course especially designed to host major events, located in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, on the outskirts of Paris. Last year’s Open de France attracted more than 52,000 spectators.
With the presence of great talents including the main European (rising) stars, as well as the brilliant design of the golf course, hosting the Ryder Cup 2018, this event guarantees a fantastic day for spectators.
On 6 July 2014, "G-Mac" won the Alstom Open for the second time with a superb final round of 67, beating Kevin Sadler (USA) and Thongchai Jaidee (Thailand) by a single stroke after a dramatic turn of events on the last hole.
2014 celebrates the ninth year of partnership for the Group as a major sponsor. Along with the organiser of the Open de France, Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), Alstom wishes to make this tournament an international event. On 6 July 2012, the Group extended its sponsorship of the Alstom Open de France for a further four years, taking the tournament through to its centenary edition in 2016.

The decision to organise the 42nd edition of The Ryder Cup in France in 2018 is one of our common achievements. Our success is also illustrated by our 800 guests from 40 countries around the world and 1,000 Alstom shareholders and employees who are present at this year’s Alstom Open de France. We therefore consider that it was a natural step forward to maintain our support from 2013 onwards."
