10 years of French Open with Alstom

All about the Alstom Open de France

The Open de France, established in 1906, is one of the most prestigious professional golf tournaments on the European Tour.

For more than 20 years, it has been taking place at the Golf National, an exceptional golf course especially designed to host major events, located in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, on the outskirts of Paris. This year’s Open de France attracted more than 50,000 spectators.

With the presence of great talents including the main European (rising) stars, as well as the brilliant design of the golf course, the Albatros of Le Golf National, hosting the Ryder Cup 2018, this event guarantees a fantastic day for spectators.

This year, the Alstom Open de France took place from 2 to 5 July 2015.

The French contingent, including Victor Dubuisson, delighted the public but was unable to match a near-perfect final round for Bernd Wiesberger, who ended 13 under par, ahead of James Morrison (10 under) and Jaco Van Zyl (8 under). The 29-year-old, world 39th player not only secured victory at the 99th Alstom Open de France but also became the first Austrian to win the trophy.

Next edition will take place from Thursday 30 June to Sunday 3 July 2016.

Alstom Open de France: a long-term partnership

Along with the organiser of the Open de France, Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), Alstom wishes to make this tournament an international event. 2015 celebrated the tenth year of partnership for the Group as a major sponsor

During the announcement ceremony, Patrick Kron said: “Alstom has been supporting the French Open - now the Alstom Open de France - during ten years, helping to strengthen its position as one of the most renowned golf tournaments.” “To succeed in this challenge we have worked closely with all our partners. The decision to organise the 42nd edition of The Ryder Cup in France in 2018 is one of our common achievements. Our success is also illustrated by our 800 guests from 40 countries around the world and 1,000 Alstom shareholders and employees who are present at this year’s Alstom Open de France.”

This high-status event is an outstanding public relations opportunity for Alstom, offering the perfect way to entertain important clients, partners and decision-makers, giving them a chance not only to enjoy the tournament as spectators or participants in the Pro-Am, but also to take advantage of the cultural and artistic richness of Paris.
