Alstom has been present in Italy since 1998 and today it operates in the markets of power generation and transmission and railway transport. The Group has inherited some of the brands that have made the history of the Italian electro-mechanical industry, such as Ercole Marelli, Fiat Ferroviaria, Parizzi and recently Passoni & Villa. It now has 13 sites on the national territory and employs around 3,400 people. In the fiscal year 2011/2012 it registered a turnover of 1,25 billion Euros. 

Through its technologies Alstom Italia has contributed to the development of the country’s infrastructures. With its people in its engineering centers and manufacturing plants in the national territory, Alstom Italia contributes to enhancing technological capabilities in the country. And thanks to the work generated for local suppliers and to a substantial share of exports, it enhances the national economy.
