The €360 million contract with the Department of Rapid
Transit Systems (DORTS) of Taipei was signed on November 19.
ALSTOM leads the consortium, and its share of the contract is

The extension of the Orange Line includes a 19.4-kilometer
branch to Hsin Chuang with 16 new stations and a 6.5-kilometer
branch to Lu Chou with four new stations.
The Blue Line will be extended 2.2 kilometers from its eastern
terminus to Nankang, with two new stations.
Revenue service is scheduled to begin at the end of 2009.
