The equipment will be installed on trains for Line 2 of the
metro of the South Korean city of Taegu.

With this contract, ALSTOM is responsible for the supply of
the entire URBALIS 200 signaling and control system for the new
metro line, currently under construction. In January 2003, HIT
awarded ALSTOM a contract worth about 16.5 million for the

HIT is the main contractor for the project.

This contract reinforces the worldwide success of URBALIS,
in Asia in particular, where ALSTOM recently won a contract to
supply the signaling and control systems for an extension of the
Shanghai metro's Line 3. The contract is worth about 14
million.

These URBALIS 200 offers covers SMATRLOCK, the interlocking
system, MASTRIA, the automatic train control and SMARTWAY
signaling products.
