ALSTOM's consolidation of shares effective 3rd August 2005

ALSTOM's consolidation of shares will be
effective Wednesday 3rd August, at the opening of Euronext
Paris.

The consolidation of shares will take place through the exchange
of 40 shares for one new share. As an example, the closing price
of 2nd August 2005, at 0.84, would correspond to a new
price of 33.6. The number of ALSTOM shares will
consequently be reduced from 5,498 million shares to 137 million
shares.
