Alstom inaugurates first wind turbine assembly facility in Brazil

A 55-year partner for power generation in Brazil, Alstom
today unveiled its first wind turbine assembly facility located in Camaçari in
the state of Bahia
. Patrick Kron, Alstoms Chairman and CEO and Philippe
Delleur, President of Alstom Brazil along with the companys directors and
government officials presented the new facility to local dignitaries and
members of the press.

 

55 years of Alstom in Brazil

With an installed capacity of 300MW per year, the facility is Alstoms eighth plant
in Brazil and will provide jobs for 150 people. It will be used to assemble equipment
for key ECO 80 and ECO 100 wind projects in Brazil and Latin America, including
fulfilling the orders for two new wind contracts: Desenvix for the Brotas
complex in Bahia (90MW) and three
wind plants in Brasventos S.A. in Rio Grande do Norte (580MW).

Building
on more than 30 years of designing and implementing proven and reliable wind
