Alstom and Rushydro will build a plant for the manufacturing of turbines in Ufa

On 11th February, Alstom and RusHydro, Russias largest hydro power generation company, signed a deal to build a hydro equipment facility in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Phillipe Cochet, President of Alstom Hydro, and Yevgeny Dod, Chairman of RusHydro, inked the deal at a ceremony attended by President Dmitry Medvedev in the Bashkir capital of Ufa.

The factory will be oriented to production of hydrogenating equipment for small hydropower plants of up to 25 MW capacity, as well industrial control systems and integrated security systems. In perspective, the enterprise will be producing also equipment for medium HPP up to 100 MW, and pumped storage power plants up to 150 MW.

The facility will provide investment and employment opportunities for the citizens of the Bashkortostan Republic, producing turbines, generators, auxiliary equipment, and hardware and software provided by Alstom for the hydro power industry.
