Alstom is awarded as "Best Industry and Best System Components Industry" in Brazil

On March 24th, at the occasion of the Revista Ferroviaria Award which took place in Sao Paulo (Brazil), Alstom has been twice awarded: as "Best Passengers Industry" and "Best system components manufacturer".

Ramon Fondevila, Alstom Transport Managing Director, received the prize on behalf of the company. This prize awards Alstom for being the first company to install its rail transport activities in Brazil, with a unit dedicated to the development of metro cars and another for signaling and control solutions. This is the 8th time Alstom receives the Revista Ferroviaria Award since its creation in 1989. The ceremony gathered authorities, customers and the main representatives of the rail transport industry.

As the most important trade magazine for railway sector in Brazil, Revista Ferroviaria honours, through this prize, key actors of the railway market. This year's award was voted by the internet for the magazine readers. To make sure of the votation integrity, each reader could access the link once and the process was audited by an external company, legitimating Alstom's image in the rail transport market.

Alstom is present in Brazil for 55 years and counts on 5,000 local employees, that work in 7 units installed in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul and Rondônia. In 2011, the company is launching its 8th unit in the state of Bahia.

Alstom Transport employs more than 1,200 employees in Brazil and has a tradition in the supply for the countrys main operators, with 2 units in the city of São Paulo.
