World leaders, top industry executives, policy makers, financial analysts and others who shape global energy policy will gather in Houston the week of March 7 for CERAWeek 2011, the world’s premier conference on worldwide energy issues, policy and innovation.

Senior executives from Alstom Power, including Philippe Joubert, Executive Vice President, Alstom, President, Power Sector (pictured here), will join these global energy leaders in Houston, Texas for in –depth discussion on topics framed by the conference theme of Leading the Way: Energy Strategies for a World of Change. During the 30th annual occurrence of this marquee industry event, Alstom’s senior leadership will actively engage CERAWeek attendees in discussions about the need for an increased share of renewable power in order to achieve a balanced technology portfolio, maximizing energy production efficiency and flexibility of traditional energy assets to ensure effective integration of renewables to the grid, and applying Carbon Capture and Storage, or CCS, to lower greenhouse gas emissions from both new and existing coal or gas plants.

These three critical priorities are the pillars of Alstom’s ‘Clean Power Today!TM’ strategy for addressing the dual challenges of climate change and increasing global demand for reliable and affordable electricity.

Chief among these will be Philippe Joubert’s participation in a plenary panel discussion on Friday, March 11 addressing The $30 Trillion Balancing Act: Investing Long Term in a "Now" World of Uncertainty.
