On 28 March, in the presence of the Governor of the State of São Paulo, Alstom inaugurated the third station of line 4 of the São Paulo metro. Butanta station, a vast space of more than 13,200 m², will be able to handle up to 20,000 passengers a day.

Thanks to its tried and tested know-how in infrastructure projects, Alstom, part of the Via Amarela consortium, supplied the power supply for the track, the telecommunications systems, a local control centre and auxiliary facilities (such as the escalators, the lifts and the air conditioning system for the technical rooms).

The inauguration is a step forward in the construction of Line 4, which in a few weeks time will see the commissioning of the Vinheiros station, followed a few months later by the commissioning of the Luz and República stations.
