(NMC), to supply the state-of-the-art traction system for Nanjing Metro Line 10. The contract value amounts to €23 million.

The contract involves the supply of traction systems to Line 10’s 21 six-car trainsets. Alstom and SATEE will be working closely with the car-builder, Nanjing Puzhen, one of Alstom’s major local partners in China. Over the past years, Alstom has supplied over 450 metro cars for Nanjing Line 1, Nanjing Line 2 and Nanjing Line 1-South Extension by cooperating with Puzhen.

As the backbone of the city’s public transport, Nanjing Line 10 will connect “An De Men” station in Yuhua District with “ChengXi Lu” station in Pukou District by crossing the Yangtze River. With a total length up to 21.6 km with 14 stations, the line will be launched in June 2014, just before the Junior Olympic Games.

“This is a significant contract for Alstom as it shows Nanjing Metro continued confidence in Alstom and SATEE. Today, SATEE has become a leading supplier for traction system in the country through Alstom’s strong localisation and commitment in increasing SATEE’s R&D and engineering capabilities.” said Dominique Pouliquen, President of Alstom Transport Asia Pacific and Alstom China Country President.

“Nanjing Metro Line 10 will shorten the travel time between the city centre and Pukou District, providing easier mobility for passengers in the area.
