The Metropolitan Community of Le Havre (CODAH), France, has taken up an option on another two Citadis trams, adding to its initial order of 20 Citadis tramsets in July 2010.
The decision to build a light-rail system in Le Havre reflects CODAH's commitment to embodying the "Grenelle de l’Estuaire" environmental initiative launched by the panel of elected officials for the Seine Estuary in October 2008. Citadis units are 98% recyclable and will help the estuary set the standard in sustainable development. Each tram can carry up to 200 passengers: the equivalent of three buses.

Alstom designed the tramsets to blend seamlessly into the urban environment and fit the lifestyle of people living in the Le Havre metropolitan area. The livery used on the outside of the trams will reflect the city's grid layout, with interior design features focusing on passenger comfort and accessibility.

The first trams, scheduled under the initial order, will be delivered in February 2012, with gradual delivery of all 22 trams due to continue into October 2012.
