Alstom is highlighting its growing reputation and presence in the UK renewable power market by exhibiting at the UKs leading renewable energy trade association event, RenewableUK.

More than 5,000 participants are expected to attend the 34th annual RenewableUK event, running from 30 October to 1 November in Glasgow. RenewableUK acts as a central point of information for its membership and as a lobbying group to promote wind energy and marine renewables to government, industry, the media and the public.

Alstoms reliable and competitive renewable energy sector offering aims to develop solutions that use the energy of the earth, wind, water and sun. Alstom has led a range of ground-breaking, innovative projects including the acquisition of tidal company, Tidal Generation Limited, the development of a new generation of offshore wind turbines and the creation of a joint venture with SSE Renewables to co-develop the world's largest wave farm off the coast of Orkney through its holding in AWS Ocean Energy.

With new installations like the Maesgwyn wind farm, the Whitelee onshore wind farm extension and Clachan Flats Onshore Wind Farm, Alstom has now entered the UK renewable market at scale.

In addition, Alstoms HVDC grid solutions have a vital future role to play in supporting the UKs renewables market. HVDC is ideally suited for the large further offshore projects where large amounts of power must be transported over long distances to shore. Based in Stafford, Alstom Grid employs over 1,400 people with work including major onshore high voltage schemes and building and maintaining four offshore substations around the UK shore at: Robin Rigg, Ormonde, Sheringham Shoal and Barrow.

During RenewableUK, Alstom will be exhibiting at stand A12 to meet with British and international renewables customers, trade and press.
