Alstom hands over £50,000 charity cheque for Pembroke efforts

The arrival of Alstom in Pembrokeshire to build the new RWE npower power station was huge news in the local community, not least for the Wales Air Ambulance and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. 

During the work of the UKs largest Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power station, Alstom employees and members of the local community rolled up their sleeves to raise more than £50,000 over a three year period for the two charities.

In fact, more than £35,000 was raised in July  when Alstom sponsored the annual fundraising event of the That'll Be The Day Rock' n ' Roll Variety Show weekend at Folly Farm, Pembroke.

Other charity events were held to raise additional money during the three years that Alstom worked on the Pembroke site.

Courtesy of Shirley Wheeler, Pembroke Guild Vice President, the £50,000 charity cheque was officially handed over to the charities at a reception at the Old Kings Arms Hotel, Pembroke to thank Alstom for their efforts.
