Alstom Power Italy plays a leading role in two important projects in Romania, for the installation of wet flue gas desulphurisation (Wet FGD) systems at the Craiova and Rovinari power plant.
At the Rovinari power plant, a Romanian public utility, Alstom is working at the construction of a Wet FGD system for the unit 4, which was an option under the contract for units 3 & 6. The performance tests carried out at Rovinari showed outstanding results which allowed the plant to comply not only with the current emissions standards but also with the new Industrial Emissions Directive with compliance deadline set for 2016. After these good results, the Complexul Energetic Craiova tm, another Romanian public utility, commissioned Alstom the Wet FGD system for the 2 x 150 MW Craiova 2 power plant.
The Alstom site of Sesto San Giovanni (MI) is responsible for both these projects.
