Alstom has signed a long term service contract with JSC Mosenergo in Russia for the 420 MW power generating unit #8 at the combined heat and power plant TPP-26, located in Moscow. The contract is valued at more than €100 million. It is the first time such a large scope for a service contract is awarded to an international company in Russia.
The 14-year service agreement includes all maintenance to be carried out at the plant including management of daily service activities as well as supply of spares. Equipment covered includes all Alstom equipment in the generating unit #8, consisting of one GT26 gas turbine, one steam turbine, two air-cooled generators and additionally one heat recovery steam generator (HRSG).
Unit #8 of power plant 26 entered commercial operation in June 2011. Based on Alstom’s GT26 gas turbine, with efficiency close to 59%, it is the most efficient combined cycle power plant in Russia today. In 2007, when the contract was awarded, Alstom became the first foreign company to build a power plant in Russia on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model. In 2007, Alstom had also signed a maintenance contract covering the GT26 gas turbine.

Our gas turbine technology has already made TPP-26 the most efficient gas-fired power plant in the country and we are dedicated to support our customer to maintain this performance while also optimising his plant operation costs.”
Alstom is currently executing nearly 80 such service contracts for gas-fired power stations where it has supplied equipment, covering more than 150 gas turbines. Thermal services contribute nearly half of the Alstom Thermal Power Sector’s turnover. The business continues to register strong order volumes as customers globally invest in services to optimise the performance of their power plant.
