Alstom T&D India reaches Century Mark in manufacturing 765 kV transformers

Alstom T&D India today adds another first to its list of pioneering efforts in India as its world-class power transformer manufacturing facility at Vadodara today flagged off two transformers first, its 100th 765 kV transformer and second, Indias largest 765 kV 275 MVA, single-phase generator transformer.

Alstom T&D Indias green field facility at Vadodara was inaugurated in March 2009. It has since ramped up production capabilities to become the first domestic manufacturer to reach the Century milestone by producing the 100th Extra High Voltage (EHV) 765 kV/500 MVA transformer and reactor.  This transformer steps up power to Power Grids 765 kV substation at Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

Alstom T&D India also flags off Indias largest 765 kV class generator single phase transformer for Jaypee Groups Bara Thermal Power project, Uttar Pradesh. Alstom T&D India is the leader and has the largest market share for 765 kV generator transformers among Indian manufacturers.
