Unit Canoas, inaugurated in August this year, completed the production of its first tower for wind power generation, destined to the Corredor Senandes project, the first wind power project of Odebrecht Energia, which will have 108 MW of installed capacity. The shipment of the equipment, which weighs 260 tons and is 85 meters high, is already underway.
The wind tower was the first equipment manufactured in the Unit, being used as startup of the machines installed in the new plant. Production was aided by operators and engineers of Alstom Spain.
Canoas Unit is the second unit of the wind sector in Latin America and has the capacity to produce 120 towers of steel per year, enough to supply about 350 MW of electricity.
