Alstom T&D India Limited announces Q2, 2013-14 results

Alstom T&D India Limited today announced its financial results, for the second quarter and half year ended September 2013, following approval by the Companys Board of Directors. 

For Q2, 2013-14 

Sales : 8,022 MINR ( Y-O-Y + 18%)
Profit After Tax : 208 MINR 

For Half Year 2013-14 

Sales : 13,618 MINR  ( Y-O-Y + 0.9%)
Profit After Tax : 359 MINR  ( Y-O-Y + 69% )
Order Backlog : 64,700 MINR ( Y-O-Y +6% )

During the quarter, Alstom T&D India won major contracts like 400/220/66 kV GIS Substation at Wangtoo for HPPTCL; 400 kV AIS Substation at Charanka and Sankhari for GETCO; 220 kV AIS Substation for BSPTCL; 220 kV GIS Substation at Melli, 765 kV Circuit Breaker package and 765kV reactor package at Kanpur and Jatikara for PowerGrid.

Alstom inaugurated its Digital Substation Automation Competence Centre at its existing facility in Pallavaram in Chennai. The Company also achieved a century landmark with the flag-off of the 100th 765 kV transformer for PowerGrid and Indias largest 765kV Power Transformer for JP Power from its Vadodara manufacturing unit.

Commenting on the results, Rathin Basu, Managing Director, Alstom T&D India said: While the market conditions continue to be challenging, we achieved a good order inflow resulting in stronger backlog. During Q2 we improved our execution and sales rebounded. Alstom continues its efforts to optimize its costs structure and resource base.
