Alstom, along with around twenty other major players from French industry, will board the « Industry and Innovation train which will criss-cross France from 19 March to 18 April, 2013. This initiative is part of Frances third Industry Week which starts on 18 March.
The train has a 19-stop journey across France with one stop in Germany, so that visitors can discover the industrial expertise and latest innovations of the exhibiting companies.
Among the trains destinations are:
- Belfort, where Alstom has transport and power generation activities. On 22 March, Arnaud Montebourg (Frances Minister for Productive Recovery) is planning to visit Alstoms excellence centre for Euroduplex powercars and locomotives.
- Lyon, in the Rhône-Alpes region, where Alstom has three sites working on power transmission technology development and solutions, especially in SuperGrids and Smartgrids.
- Grenoble, where Alstoms latest hydro power centre of excellence was opened in February 2013. This centre coordinates all the Groups R&D activities in this field.
- Düsseldorf in Germany where Alstoms Euroduplex very high speed train has been in service for almost a year, following the launch of the international FrankfurtMarseille connection.
