Alstom further consolidates its presence in China with a new contract to supply two GT13E2 gas turbine generators

Alstom has signed a contract with Harbin Turbine Company Limited (HTC) to supply two sets of GT13E2 gas turbine generators for Huaneng Power Internationals (HPI) Suzhou combined heat and power plant. This is Alstoms third gas turbine order awarded by HTC over the last nine months. The total contract value is approximately 40 million.
Located in the Suzhou city of Jiangsu province, with a total capacity of 400 MW, the plant will help to increase the power generation capacity in the south-western areas of Suzhou. The two new sets will be delivered in early 2014.
This third contract with Harbin Turbine Company confirms our gas turbine businesss return to the Chinese market and the reliability of our GT13E2 technology, which has proven its suitability for China," said Mark Coxon, Senior Vice-President of Alstoms Gas Business.
Earlier orders with HTC during this 2012/13 fiscal year include the supply of two sets of GT13E2 gas turbines for HPIs Tongxiang plant in Zhejiang province and the delivery of one GT13E2 gas turbine for a combined cycle plant owned by Shenzhen Nantian Electric Power Co., Ltd in Shenzhen.
The GT13E2 is one of Alstoms most successful gas turbines. This gas turbine is the largest and most efficient turbine of its class in the market. Its high efficiency brings a low operation cost, which provides significant benefits to customers in fuel savings and reduced emissions.
