Alstom's Green Building Practices Shine Thru in Tennessee

Alstom’s Chattanooga, Tennessee-based boiler manufacturing team recently was recognized for its commitment to sustainability and green building practices in a television segment titled Live Green Tennessee

The series highlights new innovations that promote environmental sustainability throughout the state of Tennessee.Its most recent episode focused on the efforts of green|spaces, a Chattanooga organization that provides funding and guidance to local businesses with the goal of promoting sustainable building practices. 

Alstom has worked with green|spaces since 2009. Through that partnership, the company’s Chattanooga boiler team recently celebrated the installation of their facility's first solar power array, whose 234 photovoltaic panels provide enough electricity to power six-to-seven homes.

During his interview with Live Green Tennessee, Alstom Project Manager Bobby Hicks emphasized that, Without the initial funding provided by green|spaces, this project simply would not have happened.

Installation of the Chattanooga solar array exemplifies Alstoms global commitment to not only deliver products and technology that help the environment, but also to employ sustainable and responsible manufacturing practices. In addition to the solar array project, green|spaces supported Alstoms effort to secure LEED certification for the companys new administration building.
