Alstom invests R$16 million in equipment for machining turbine components

Alstom held the opening ceremony of the Torno Schiess, equipment capable of machining components of Francis and Kaplan turbines, used in hydropower plants, with great precision. The machine, which has capacity for parts up to 350 tons and 13 feet in diameter, is in Taubaté Unit, center of excellence in hydropower.

The Taubaté factory is one of the largest units in the hydropower sector in the world, capable of producing all the electromechanical equipment for power plants in Latin America and for export.
