Alstom has signed a contract to deliver equipment for the 135MW Concepcion Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) Power Plant, which will be constructed by the NLSC* consortium in the Philippines. The CFB Power Plant will be constructed for Palm Concepcion Power Corporation (PCPC). The contract, booked during the first quarter of 2013, is valued at over 15 million and aims to be completed by the end of 2015.  Alstom will deliver one 135MW steam turbine, generator set and auxiliaries, including the water cooled condenser for a coal fired power plant.

The power plant will generate power for the Visayas Grid, in response to the growing Philippine energy demands. Currently the Visayas Grid has a capacity of 1,700 MW which represents 12% of the countrys power demand; and supports interconnected grids in Cebu, Negros, Panay, Leyte, Samar and Bohol.

Wouter Van Wersch, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Alstom Power Asia Pacific said, This contract further strengthens our position in the Philippines. We are very pleased to be successful with our compact, cost efficient and reliable industrial steam turbines, which are employed for various applications. It also confirms our customers confidence in the performance and the reliability of our industrial steam turbines.

Following the Limay Combined Cycle Power Plant and the Sual Coal Fired Power Plant, constructed in the 1990s, the Concepcion Project joins Alstoms success story in the Philippines.

*NLSC is a consortium comprising the First Northeast Electric Power Engineering Corporation of China Energy Group (NEPC), Liaoning Electric Power Survey & Design Institute (LEPDI) & Shenyang Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. (SEPDI).
