Alstom, a global leader in electric power and rail transportation technology, has appointed Amy Ericson as the company’s Country President for the United States. In her new role, Ericson will oversee Alstom’s engagement with U.S. policy stakeholders while directly supporting its pursuit of new business opportunities in the areas of thermal and renewable power generation, rail transit and electricity transmission and distribution.

"With 8,000 U.S. employees and major production and technology centers across 45 states and D.C., Alstom is well positioned to deliver the technology innovations customers need to advance America's energy and transportation future," said Ericson. "I look forward to helping customers and the broader U.S. market take full advantage of our strong domestic capability as well as Alstom’s global expertise. I also am eager to engage with policy makers on mechanisms that drive companies like ours to create high-quality jobs and catalyze economic activity.”

Prior to taking on her new assignment, Amy Ericson served as vice President of Product Platform Management for Alstom’s global gas-fired power generation business.  She also has held strategic operations, business strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and global marketing positions within several of Alstom’s power generation businesses.   Amy has over 20 years of experience in the global energy industry, having held previous positions with ABB, DuPont and ExxonMobil. Ericson holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Alstom has over a century of experience in America’s energy and transportation markets. The company’s equipment can be found in half of all U.S. power plants, and its software controls 40% of the electricity flowing through the country’s power grid. Alstom’s passenger rail manufacturing facility, located in Hornell, New York, is the largest of its kind in the U.S. and has built or modernized more than 7,000 transit vehicles.
