Alstom has been awarded a key contract to provide a Gas Dedusting System for the Brazilian company Uni-Systems, responsible for the full deployment of the ethanol plant to the American company Southeast Renewable Fuels (SRF), an ethanol producer located in Florida, United States.

This award expands Alstom's position as the market leader in North America for air quality control systems (AQCS) for both power and industrial markets. It will be executed by the Alstom Environmental Control Systems (ECS) team in Brazil, who is the specialist in this technology.

Alstom will supply the dust collector (electrostatic precipitator, ESP) dedicated to the capture of dust particulate originating from the combustion of sorghum, a type of grass. The ESP, with its integrated dust handling system, is featured with Alstoms proprietary advanced EPIC III control technology, leading to high dust removal efficiency.

"This project represents an important achievement in penetrating the American industrial market for air quality control systems. In addition, our competent team in Brazil has the ability to tackle the stringent American environmental standards with a solution that further reduces the level of particulate emissions" says Daniel Santos, Managing Director of ECS business unit for Alstom Latin America.

As the number one provider of Air Quality Control Systems (AQCS) globally, Alstom offers innovative solutions for all types of gaseous and particulate pollutants including sulphur and nitrous oxides, mercury and particulates. Worldwide, Alstom has approximately 450 GW of AQCS systems supplied for power generation and 2800 systems supplied for the industrial sector.
