Alstom T&D India Limited today announced its financial results, for the second quarter and half-year ended September 2014, following approval by the Companys Board of Directors. 

For Q2, 2014-15 

 Order Intake       : 22,377 MINR (Y-o-Y + 137%)
Sales                  : 9,076 MINR (Y-o-Y + 13%)
Profit after Tax  : 355 MINR (Y-o-Y + 71%) 

For Half Year 2014-15 

Order Intake         : 29,896 MINR (Y-o-Y + 82%)
Sales                    : 15,788 MINR (Y-o-Y + 16%)
Profit after Tax    : 640 MINR (Y-o-Y + 78%)
Order Backlog      : 79,000 MINR (Y-o-Y +22%)

During the second quarter, Alstom announced the signing of Phase II of the ChampaKurukshetra 800 kV High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) project with Power Grid. Alstom T&D Indias share in the contract was approximately Rs. 14300 million.  

Apart from this significant win, Alstom T&D India had some other major successes including orders from Power Grid for 400 kV AIS substations and orders from State Utilities such as MSETCL for 400 kV AIS and GIS substations.

During the quarter, Alstom T&D India successfully commissioned 765 kV AIS bays for Bhopal-Dhule substation for Sterlite Industries and also commissioned 400 kV reactors at Itarsi, Gwalior, Phadge, Raigarh, Bhattapara Raipur and Sujalpur sites of Power Grid. Recently, it also commissioned a 220kV line bay in Rajasthan for Cairn India.

Commenting on the results, Rathin Basu, Managing Director, Alstom T&D India said: With continued focus on project execution, the Company has delivered good operational performance which translated into improved sales and profits despite challenging market conditions. The quarter was also marked by a record high backlog. With the prestigious win of Phase 2 of the Champa-Kurukshetra HVDC project , Alstom has confirmed once again, its leadership position in the 800 kV HVDC market in India.
