On 1 February 2014, Dr. Jochen Schwarz (60) was called in the board of directors of ALSTOM Deutschland AG. He was confirmed in his new function during the last board meeting. Dr. Jochen Schwarz takes over the function of the board member Dr. Wolfgang Voss (65), who has been responsible for the Grid sector in Germany. Dr. Wolfgang Voss goes into retirement on 31 January 2014 and Dr. Jochen Schwarz will intensively pursue the business potentials, arising in the course of the energy turnaround in the field of electrical power transmission.

The electrical engineer (PhD) Schwarz has been responsible for Alstom Grid and its predecessor companies at the site in Mönchengladbach, Germany, since 1996 and took over the site management in 2003. In the future, he will continue to exercise this role in parallel to his new function in the board. Alstom produces and establishes transformers and shunt reactors for global usage in electrical networks, power-, infrastructure- and industrial plants. Under Schwarz leadership the location was sustainably modernized and extended.

Together with my board colleagues I am glad to welcome Dr. Jochen Schwarz as new board member of ALSTOM Deutschland AG. His long-standing experience in the field of electrical power transmission will support us, to continuously increase our market share and to identify new potentials for Alstom, says Alf Henryk Wulf, chairman of the management board of ALSTOM Deutschland AG.
