On 25th February 2014, Alstom invited transport bloggers for a ride on its modern tramway based on the Citadis model and developed for the countries with track gauge 1524 mm together with the Russian partner Transmashholding (TMH).

Ten most active and professional bloggers were the first "real" passengers of the tramway on the 3.5 km long section of the Moscow track, currently in operation, where the tramway is being tested for winter conditions.

Moscow has never seen such a "cosmic" vehicle before. As the tramway, fast and quiet, elegantly ran along the line where passengers every day find themselves packed and continuously shaken in the old models, people on the streets took pictures of the friendly alien.

Meanwhile, the people inside were paying great attention to the managers and technical experts from Alstom and TMH, who presented the tramway and answered numerous questions, from localization to axle load.

The journey provided the positives feedback and wishes to see the tramway on the local streets in a short time!

The tramway presented in Moscow is the first vehicle of such class, able to operate on the existing infrastructure of Russia and CIS. The design enables the tramway to cope with the cold climate up to -40°C, complex ground profile and a heavy passenger flow.
