Alstom Finland Oy is now certified according to the standard SFS-EN 1090-2 +A1 which gives qualification to execute installation projects of structural steel components covered by the standard

The Thermal Services business unit at ALSTOM Finland Oy is now certified according to the standard EN1090-2. Inspecta Sertifiointi Oy has on 10th February 2014 granted the unit a product certificate that covers erection of structural steel components. The unit is qualified to execute projects relating to structural steel components under execution classes EXC1, EXC2 and EXC3.

The product standard EN1090-2 is part of the CE marking requirement of construction products and steel structures. The CE marking becomes mandatory on 1st July 2014, as the period of transition for implementing the harmonized product standard SFS-EN 1090-1 will end. The requirement of CE marking covers e.g. building structures, bridges, towers, unpressurized containers, silos, pipe lines, beams, pillars, piles, crane rails, access bridges, stairs and railings.

Installation of CE marked steel components must be executed according to the requirements of the product standard EN1090-2 which must be documented and verified. The installation operations of ALSTOM Finland Oys Thermal Services business unit comply with the requirements of the standard. The compliance with the requirements can be verified among others by the certificate granted by Inspecta.

Attached (see the downloads) are a summary of core elements of EN1090-2 process and the product certificate granted by Inspecta.
