Alstom Mexico has been awarded with the Corporate Social Responsibility Certificate (ESR), given by the Mexican Philanthropy Center (Cemefi for its Spanish acronym) and by the Mexican Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility (AliaRSE).Such distinction is granted to companies in Mexico that promote and support the principles associated with corporate social responsibility as part of their culture and business strategy regarding certain areas, such as quality of life within the organization, business ethics, social responsibility management, liaison with the community and the environment.
"This recognition is part of the efforts undertaken by Alstom to become one of the leading companies in social responsibility in Mexico. We are convinced that social responsibility is an investment that allows us to have a better interaction with our stakeholders. It’s a virtuous circle”, said Cintia Angulo, Alstom Mexico Country President.
The ESR distinction acknowledges the culture and vision held by Alstom in Mexico to contribute towards improving the quality of life of families in the country by means of social responsibility actions and initiatives. As an example, in the past five years, Alstom Foundation has contributed with € 250,000 in several projects, that range from renewable energy development in rural communities (Oaxaca) to the preservation of migratory birds (Veracruz), bison preservation (Chihuahua), in social development programs (Veracruz), and currently supporting the axolote preservation program (State of Mexico). The Alstom Foundation has been able to impact positively the life of over 500 individuals directly, contributing also to the preservation of at least 18 endangered species in Mexico.
